Starr-Hollow and a Coast Guard helicopter crew were responding to a call from a fisherman who said his fishing boat was sinking 20 miles off the coast of Cape Disappointment. They arrived at the site at about 7 a.m. to find the 34-foot fishing vessel Rose Marie already up to its gunnels. The man - the only person on the boat - was on a life raft.
