Event brings hordes of runners, visitors, volunteers to Seaside SEASIDE - The 29th Hood to Coast Relay was so big, it was easy to get lost in all the numbers. There were, of course, the 12,000 runners and 1,000 teams; the half-million dollars raised for cancer research; the 197-mile course from 6,000 feet on Mount Hood to sea level at Seaside; the 3,500 volunteers who made the race possible.
